I'm Birgit, though I often go by Holly more often as that's the name I was born with, but I'll answer to either. I attend Penn State and I'm a history major. I am a geek in many ways. My big obsession is history, specifically WWI and late 19th century Europe. I am a gamer and I also watch anime and read manga. I also read other books, mostly fantasy, but I'm also a big mythology geek. Read history books too, obviously. I am trying to branch out into reading other genres of books though. I'm also a fangirl of various things. It would be hard to list all of the things I squee about or get excited about, so let's just leave it at that. ;)

I write both fanfiction and original fiction. My fanfiction is partly archived on my AO3 Account and my writing (and icon) journal is night_ink.

I'm also a Germanic hard polytheist pagan who is not adverse to dealing with gods from other cultures. I am interested in learning about Slavic paganism, but I've been finding it hard to find any information on it in English. In a lot of ways, I'm a baby pagan, but I'm willing to learn. I haven't incorporated my beliefs in life as well I'd wish, but I am having a hard time balancing my life in general right now. There is also a lot of woo in my practice, but I keep a lot of that quiet and don't talk about it.

Feel free to friend to me if you wish - I will likely return the favor, though I would like to know where you found me and why you friended me if I don't know you already. I've been posting more publicly lately, so I hope to keep that going and I really do want to make more friends. :)

On Dreamwidth I'm birgitriddle. I often post entries there that I won't post here because I am not as comfortable with LJ's security as I am with Dreamwidth's.

On Dissappearing Entries
If an entry disappears on this journal, it probably was meant to be a protected entry if it was public or in the case of entries that were already protected, it is probably private. I don't delete my entries any more if I want to take something back. I just put them under private.

I know that for others that this is effectively the same thing as deleting the entry, but it does leave me the option to be able to look at it later on when I'm calmer. Those entries are usually just me having a random outburst for no particular reason whatsoever and then I end up being paranoid that someone would think me horrible for writing it. So if I private it, it's probably because I'm being paranoid and embarrassed. I can also keep it as a record of what happened.
