Bio
If you friend my journal and I don't know you and you don't explain why you are friending me or how you found me, I'm going to ban you from my journal unless I see something in your journal that interests me.

I'm a twenty-two year old college student currently attending Penn State University. I am a double major and I major in history and psychology. History is my true passion and I have a particular interest in 19th century Europe and WWI. How I ended up a psychology major is a long and complicated story. My goal is to graduate in Fall 2009 and after that, I'll see what I'll do. I am, however, planning on looking into grad school.

I want to be a published writer as well. I have several ideas for novels in mind, but I haven't really gotten down to work on them and research for them. I have participated in NaNoWriMo three times now and well, I've only finished the first time I participated and the story wasn't even finished yet. It's just between college and my poor time management skills, I can't find the time to concentrate on my writing.

I also write fanfiction and I post them at [info]birgitrfics. My main fandom I write in is Batman, but a few other fandoms get represented there if I am ever inspired to write in them. Those fandoms are Final Fantasy VII, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and whatever randomly captures my fancy at the time.

I read a lot. I tend to favor urban and dark fantasy. High or epic fantasy is less my thing. Yes, that means I'm not all that much into Tolkien. I own his books, I've read them, and I have nothing against the people who like his writing, it's just not my thing. I also read and enjoy other genres, but those genres are harder for me to say I like because I only like a few books in them or I haven't read enough of the genre.

I used to be a big Harry Potter fan. I am no longer, but you can still probably tell my favorite character from my user name. I'm far too fond of my user name to rename my journal.

Other things I like include video games and anime. The kinds of video games I prefer are RPGs (Final Fantasy and such) and those silly addicting Lego (insert franchise) games. I cannot say my opinions on other games as I'm still exploring other genres. However, I don't like most war games because I refuse to play video games dealing with realistic combat in WWII. I play on the PS2 console and I'm soon getting a Wii. I also play on a Nintendo DS along with a Nintendo Gameboy Advanced SP.

The anime that I like range from shoujo to um...not shoujo. My favorites include Magic Knight Rayearth, Shoujo Kakumei Utena (Revolutionary Girl Utena), Sailor Moon, Samurai Troopers (Ronin Warriors), Hellsing, and Fullmetal Alchemist.

If you're uncomfortable with polytheists or people who like those of the same gender, I suggest you look somewhere else. I consider myself a polytheist (however, non-practicing as I don't have a steady form of worship yet) and a bisexual (I like both men and women, but I am more attracted to females personality wise).
